Adventure camp week one

Today all of my Adventure camp campers headed home, we had an awesome week with three riding sessions a day and one out trip it was a long week. Jesus has given me the strength to deal with all the pressures of my job, with only two crashes and both of them non-life threatening it was a good week overall. Living on the Sunshine coast in the middle of a forest is very different then my home in St. Stephen, for the last week I have been sleeping on a pull out couch outside in our lounge that is covered by a huge tarp. Thursday night Steve and I chilled and watched NSX 9 a north shore bike film that he hard a part producing and riding in if you get a chance you should youtube it, out here the NSX series lead the way for the north shore bike scene. The trails that are in my back yard are all epic and have all been featured in riding movies at some point, it really stokes me up to think I am going to be riding trails that the guys in epic bike videos have ridden. Over the coming weeks I will be traveling to Crankworks and the Barclaw invitational along with filming trips on the main land with my friend Steve.  The sun is warm the coffee is fresh and the summer is young  I am glad to be out here and blessed to work for such a sweet organization not much more I can ask for.

Last week of riggers

Another week of riggers has been completed  this was my final week as a rigger, during the week I completed a wide variety of tasks. This week basic carpentry skills were learned and I also busted out a paint brush and painted the executive directors house. Overall it was a good week the sun finally came out and the weather for this week is looking great.  I am up the coast this week near to Pender Harbor at a resort for a bridge staff retreat, only two weeks left until camps starts it is approaching fast.

One Week

This week consisted of major trail building and repair, Friday we finished all of the trails so I am glad to be done that job and on to the next one. I have still been biking lot’s, this weekend my bike skipper came up to ride and work on the bike park he is a really cool guy his name is Steve. He is a very talented north shore rider that has mad skills on the jumps and also the north shore park. I have only ridden with him one day but I am already starting to dirt jump better last night we rode for four and half hours just building jumps and riding. By the end of the night I was shredding in true north shore style it was a good time, on Monday we star setting up waterfront fixing the docks and then putting them in place one week left of riggers then pre camp starts summer is approaching at a rapid speed.

Arrived

So I have been in British Columbia for four days now and it has been great! Vancouver is a wicked city lots to see and do round the city and loads of sick bike shops, I went shopping the first day I was here and had a chance to look around north Van west Van and Vancouver it self.  Keats Island is great lots of sick bike spots the trails I will be instructing on are true north shore style lots of drops, skinny’s and jumps. It has been dope being able to wake up and walk to the dirt jumps that are huge by the way, my summer trick goal is a three sixty both front side and back side mixed with some style. This weekend I am off back to North Vancouver to stay and my friend Cam’s house should be a dope time we are hitting some local jumps near his house that’s all for now new updates to follow this so check back soon. Peace
